Welcome to Calorize. By downloading, installing, or using the Calorize mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Calorize is a calorie and nutrition tracking application that uses artificial intelligence to estimate nutritional information from text descriptions, voice input, and photos of food. The App also allows users to log exercise activities.

2. Not Medical Advice

Calorize provides estimates only. Nutritional values generated by AI are approximate and should not be relied upon for medical, dietary, or health decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalized nutrition advice. Calorize is not a substitute for professional medical guidance.

3. Accounts and Guest Access

• You may use Calorize as a guest without creating an account, subject to a limit of 20 logged entries.
• To access unlimited logging and cloud sync, you must create an account using email, Google, or Apple sign-in.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure.
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding within Calorize are owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

6. Third-Party Services

Calorize integrates with third-party services including:

• Supabase for authentication and data storage.
• OpenAI for AI-powered food and exercise analysis.
• Google and Apple for social sign-in.
• USDA FoodData Central for nutritional reference data.

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of Calorize is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Calorize is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI estimates will be accurate.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to health outcomes based on nutritional estimates.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Calorize at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice.
