Calorize ("we", "our", "the App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

• Account information: When you sign in, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo from your authentication provider (Google, Apple, or email).
• Food and exercise logs: Text descriptions, voice recordings (transcribed and discarded), and photos of meals you submit for analysis.
• Goals and preferences: Calorie and macro targets, app settings, and display preferences.

b) Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version.
• Usage data: Features used and interactions within the App for improving the user experience.

c) Guest Users

If you use Calorize without an account, all data is stored locally on your device. No personal data is transmitted to our servers until you create an account.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the core functionality of the App (food analysis, exercise tracking, goal monitoring).
• To sync your data across devices when signed in.
• To process food photos and voice input through AI services for nutritional analysis.
• To authenticate your identity when signing in.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Supabase: Authentication and cloud database storage. Data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure.
• OpenAI: Food photos, voice transcriptions, and text descriptions are sent to OpenAI's API for nutritional analysis. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this processing.
• Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Used for authentication. We receive your name, email, and profile photo from these providers.
• USDA FoodData Central: Used for supplementary nutritional data lookups.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Guest data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage.
• Signed-in user data is stored in Supabase with row-level security policies.
• Photos submitted for analysis are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers.
• Voice recordings are transcribed and immediately discarded; only the transcribed text is retained.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the third-party services listed above, solely for the purpose of providing the App's functionality.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data through the App's export feature.
• Delete your data using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings, or by requesting account deletion.
• Opt out of cloud sync by using the App in guest mode.

7. Children's Privacy

Calorize is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
